Fresh Del Monte Producereports 'solid' 3Q results

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc announced financial results for the third quarter ended September 25, 2009. Excluding asset impairment and other charges, (credits), net, the company reported earnings per diluted share of $0.61 for the third quarter of 2009, compared with earnings per diluted share of $0.46 in the third quarter of 2008. “We are pleased with the quarter’s strength of earnings, in what is seasonally a weaker quarter,” said Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and chief executive officer at Fresh Del Monte Produce. “Our solid performance is characterized by our team’s ability to balance operational improvements and cost savings ...
