Quaker Maid Meats opens another plant

Quaker Maid Meats Inc, a supplier of frozen sandwich steaks and other frozen meat products, has opened its third meat processing plant in Reading PA. The 40,000-square-foot facility will initially employ 20 people, bringing Quaker Maid's total workforce in the city to 140. Located two blocks from the 45-year-old company's established plants, the building replaces a dilapidated storage warehouse that had been repurposed several times in its earlier life as a factory.
